Gabriel and family, Spain and UK

We loved taking this trip designed for a family where we had to combine the tastes of two super football fanatics with the completely different preferences of the other two. While some visited the great cathedrals of English and Spanish football, others delved into the history and culture of the other cathedrals, the architectural gems of European Gothic. We even had the chance to attend an authentic classic match between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Day 1. April 19th. Madrid.

WELCOME!

We picked up the clients at the Madrid airport and after leaving our luggage at the accommodation, we began to explore the Spanish capital with a panoramic tour to see its main monuments: Fuente de Cibeles, Jardines del Retiro, Palacio de Cristal, Puerta de Alcalá, Paseo del Prado. Afterwards, we took a guided walk through the city center to visit Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, Puerta del Sol, Plaza de Oriente, Palacio Real, etc., and ended the day enjoying local cuisine at a trendy restaurant in the city.

Day 2. April 20th. Madrid.

We started the day by heading to Toledo, the city of three religions, the former Spanish capital, and a UNESCO World Heritage city. We explored its historic center with its winding streets, Cathedral, Alcázar, Synagogues, etc. After lunch, we returned to Madrid where we visited the Museum and the great Santiago Bernabéu Stadium of Real Madrid, and the rest of the day was dedicated to thoroughly exploring the vibrant and youthful neighborhoods of Malasaña, Chueca, and Letras, and experiencing the gastronomy in the best tapas bars in the capital and the legendary Madrid nightlife.

Day 3. April 21st. Madrid.

Today was the big day. You saw the classic of classics live. The most televised and watched match in the world. The match between Ancelotti’s team and Xavi’s team. One of those unforgettable matches that decide a title and any fan would give anything to be there. We went to the stadium in time to experience the incredible atmosphere surrounding the classic and enjoyed the vibrant epic moment near the “White House”. For those who did not attend the match, we organized a fabulous afternoon of shopping on the city’s golden mile, with its dozens of super boutiques and all kinds of stores! At night, we dined together recounting everything that happened on this unforgettable day.

Day 4. April 22nd. Madrid – Zaragoza – Barcelona.

While the clients relaxed in their private vehicle, we set off for Barcelona. An interesting aspect of this trip was that the clients forgot an important document at the hotel when they left from Madrid to Barcelona. What seemed like an inconvenience turned into a very interesting additional visit to Guadalajara, while we took care of going back to retrieve the document. Midway, we stopped in Zaragoza, the capital of Aragon, a city of Roman origin and Arab influence, and had coffee in the impressive Plaza del Pilar and its monumental Basilica of the Virgin of the Hispanidad. We continued towards the Catalan capital to arrive in time for a first contact: Las Ramblas, Plaza de Cataluña, Montjuïc, etc. We spent the rest of the day walking through the historic center and ended the day at one of the wonderful restaurants in the city center.

Day 5. April 23rd. Barcelona.

We delved deeply into the city to see and visit not only the most touristy and monumental spots but also its lesser-known charms. We dedicated the morning to the incredible and unique architecture of Barcelona, starting with the Sagrada Familia, the masterpiece of modernist architect Antoni Gaudí, and other iconic works such as Park Güell, Casa Batlló, Casa Milà, etc. But it’s not all Gaudí, and getting lost in the city’s bourgeois neighborhoods was a huge pleasure, stopping at its modern cafes and galleries. In the afternoon, we walked along the elegant Paseo de Gracia and visited the Nou Camp Stadium Museum of FC Barcelona, and ended the day dining in the mysterious and unique Gothic Quarter.

Day 6. April 24th. Barcelona – Manchester.

Early in the morning, we headed to the airport to fly to the legendary city of Manchester, transferred to our accommodation, and left our luggage. We took a walk through the city center to visit all its most emblematic spots and ended the day with a boat ride on the canals and dinner at one of its trendy modern restaurants.

Day 7. April 25th. Manchester.

More football! Old Trafford. The Theatre of Dreams. We made the legendary visit to one of the oldest and most legendary stadiums in the world and fully immersed ourselves in Red Culture. And what better day to compare than this to later head to the Etihad Stadium and soak up the current European Champions, the club of Guardiola and Haaland. The rest of the day, we visited the city’s most typical monuments and at night, for the most lively, we got lost in the most iconic streets and places of the industrial city par excellence.

In the afternoon, we went to London and upon arrival, we made a first contact with the British capital to see iconic places like Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square. We ended the day dining in a charming corner of the city.

Day 9. April 27th. London.

We explored London in depth, a wonderful multicultural city that never disappoints. We started with a boat ride on the Thames where we saw the Tower of London next to its famous bridge, then we rode the famous London Eye, and later we visited Westminster Abbey and the Parliament with its Big Ben. After lunch, we got lost in some of the city’s most modern and bohemian neighborhoods and visited some of its major museums. We ended the day dining in a lively pub.

Day 10. April 28th. London.

We dedicated the morning to visiting the famous and imposing Chelsea football stadium, Stamford Bridge. From there, we took the famous London double-decker bus to get to the famous Harrods shopping galleries, an ideal place for a treat, and spent the rest of the day walking through the city’s impressive parks, shopping in the most commercial streets like Oxford Street, visiting Abbey Road Studios to take photos like the Beatles did, and exploring the monumental neo-Gothic St. Pancras station whose exterior appears in several Harry Potter films and next to which is King’s Cross station with its famous platform 9¾… The list was endless and we were open to requests!

Day 11. April 29th. London – Return.

We transferred to the airport at the agreed time and the end of our trip.

SAFE RETURN AND SEE YOU NEXT TIME!
